That might be right. Transformers took 12 days to $200 million and 19 days to $250 million. Transformers 2 is going to open bigger and probably get there a little faster. Assuming Trek is around $235-240 million by then, 15 days could be close.

I don't see Avatar being a top movie. Not enough people know what it is. People are getting bored with Harry Potter. I see it like this...

Of course this is entirely my opinion so don't throw any stones.

Avatar is hard to predict, it will probably be a great movie but Cameron is so last generation. All the new kids will go watch Harry Potter or Twilight or some new thing

FYI, the first tracking numbers for Transformers 2 are estimating a $175 million 5-day opening.

Now tracking has been crazy off this year (way too high for some, too low for other), but this is probably pretty realistic. Episode III's 5-day opening was $172 million, Dark Knight did $204 million.
