Articles of the Federation!

Thx and agreed they could let it sell through for many reasons. However, are ST novels selling well? Have you seen a change as someone who writes ST lit?

I mean, we are no longer getting HCs I think, just TPBs and the paperbacks.

Output seems still pretty good, but I imagine the recession impacted ST novel sales? And, perhaps, that some readers don't necessarily prefer the old school paper format vs. the digital format?

Anyhow, I am still looking forward to get my copy of AOTF and reading it. Too bad no AOTF2 is in the works (although I haven't read the first one, I have enjoyed every ST novel I have read that was penned by KRAD).

Just recieved an excellent copy of Articles of the Federation in the mail. And, I didn't pay a gazillion dollars like on eBay or "some" gougers on Amazon. I think I got it for just over cover price (still from Amazon). Which is great due to the condition of the book (its great) and its rare nature. And, now its on my "to read" pile... right after A Time for War, A Time for Peace.

Will get to these two after I go from Mission Gamma #3 (where I am now midway) to Never-Ending Sacrifice (or maybe I'll stop at Soul Key and read NES later since it doesn't appearl fundamental to the major storyline/beats of the DS9 relaunch lit) so I am caught on pre-Destiny DS9. And, I imagine David Mack's MU book will fit nicely after Soul Key anyway.

I will be doing a "Lost Era" or "Times Past" type read later (like I'm doing now by reading the DS9 relaunch books in order) with:
  1. Terok Nor 1-3
  2. Art of the Impossible
  3. Catalyst of Sorrows
  4. Buried Age
  5. Left Hand of Destiny 1-2
  6. Pandora Principle (still in the mail)
  7. Unspoken Truth
Maybe I should fit Never-Ending Sacrifice into this wave of my reading?

Left Hand of Destiny 1-2
Pandora Principle (still in the mail)
Unspoken Truth

minor thing:
Left Hand of Destiny is not Lost Era, it's DS9-Relaunch.

The other two (I'm not a TOS fan, so I'm not certain) but I'm pretty sure those are also not Lost Era books.

Thanks. I know thet are not (same with Never Ending Sacrifice). That's why I phrased them as Lost Era or Times Past novels b/c they are all "past period" pieces. Plus, I understand, LHOD takes place before or around Avatar despite it coming out in the publishing schedule during the DS9 relaunch.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers?

I to liked the Trek mix with The West Wing. Now we just need to get KRAD to do an Enterprise era prequel that is Trek mixed with Yes Minister :p

United Earth Interior Minister Haroun al-Rashid constantly butting heads with the Interior Ministry's Permanent Secretary? Or maybe Prime Minister Nathan Samuels dealing with his Cabinet Secretary? Much love either way. :)

"Prime Minister, I must categorically state that the proposed Federation Charter is the most courageous document ever signed by the United Earth Government. You are leading boldly where no leader has led us before."

Nathan Samuels then has a fit, a "bold" decision will cost you a few seats, a "courageous" decision will cost you the election.

Most of it takes place 2 months before Avatar, shortly after "What You Leave Behind." Its epilogue takes place slightly before Avatar.

Avatar, Books One and Two and the Mission: Gamma series -- in fact, every DS9 Relaunch book until Warpath -- takes place in 2376. Articles of the Federation takes place over the course of 2380.
