Article: 20 Things You Didn't Know About Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan (1982)

Can we put to rest Star Trek II was a cheap movie to make. It wasn't.

Well it cost 12m back in 1982 which is roughly 44m in adjusted dollars today, on the surface I would call that cheap, but it would be interesting to know the 'true' figure when you factor in the sets built for TMP and the effects shots and models that were re-used.

Although Sulu may have been somewhere aboard the Enterprise during Space Seed, (certainly more likely than Chekov) George Takei was not in the episode and Sulu was nowhere to be seen. I don't suppose Paramount would have replaced Walter Koenig with Bill Blackburn or Eddie Paskey, though...

Or they could've replaced Chekov with Uhura... who did come face-to-face with Khan.

Nice article! I knew a lot of these from the threads you guys have posted way back but I still recall how mindblowing finding out those things were. The child being on Reliant really disturbs me and I'm actually glad it was cut. One you guys brought up elsewhere was Sulu's cut dialogue about his promotion and "excuse for nostalgia" and I remember how wild it was even just the first time I found out Sulu was going to be captain and have his own ship. cheers.
