[Miss Chicken]

The Archibald Prize is the most important portraiture prize in Australia. I would be interested in what people think of this year's finalists. Photos of the finalists can be seen here.

I have just realised that the site I linked to doesn't show all the finalists. All the finalists are on this site (I think).

Which entries do you like, and which don't you like.

I don't particularly like

I like DA by Amanda Marburg, Professor Penny Sackett by Andrew Mezei, and John Coatzee by Adam Chang.

I actually really dislike most of the rest. I am very picky about art though, I dislike most everything I see. But when I find things I like, I really enjoy them.

I like Ray In Pairs and Cathy Freeman. And of course, this reminds me of DS9.

I strongly dislike Me by Ken Done . . . unless Ken Done is 6 years old I don't see how his portrait could be a finalist . . .

I have never really like Ken Done's work. Examples can be seen here. He is however quite a well known artist in Australia.

I cannot bear to look at it, so saturated was everything in Ken Done in some past decade.
