art asylum cage enterprise

Brannigan

Commander
Red Shirt
I just got this today and I must say Im impressed. The little details are just awesome (e.g the hangar bay doors, the rear nacelles, the upper saucer markings). However, I am slightly dissapointed that Kirks voice is present, however I note at least three Cage sound effects: two Pike voices, and what sounds like a red alert (its shrill). one small nitpick: the right hand seam on the upper saucer of mine is not blended very well. Its almost as though it didnt get glued in. Overall id give this an 8/10-one point for the inclusion of Kirks voice, and 1 for the seam (which i may try and fix with some modelling glue).

I recived mine as well. You must have also bought them from New force comics. :) I didnt open it but from what I can see from the box window, its as nice as the production version. Im really happy with these ships. They are the nicest so far in this size range.

Got mine from New Force as well on Wednesday. Very nice. Note the difference in orientation of the NCC-1701 on the bottom of the saucer section.

I think whats so good about this "toy" is the attention to detail. I also noticed that the greeblies on the rear top of the nacelles are different as well. I also noticed that they fixed the lettering on the top of the hull. Looking at pictures of the Cage Enterprise, I must say Art Asylum really did their homework.

You know what, i prefer this detailing on the saucer to that of the production version used in al seasons, im not entirely sure of the nacelle caps, id prefer if The Cage had been made and filmed using TOS style caps (Even though they used so much stock footage in the show, the Enterprise changed a few times each episode, also some stock shots from The Cage was used quite a lot.)

I like it though, its impressive. I just wish i had the money, and a place to put the thing.

Heres a few caps from The Cage to compare, its impressivly done, i must say...:

Looks good enough to me, it matches up pretty damn well.

Well done Art Asylum.

It has the exact same box art as the production version, except for a little sticker that says cage version.

Mine should arrive this week. I also pre-ordered the WNMHGB version, and the undamaged TWOK ship.

I just noticed, they havnt been as detail concsious as i first thought.

Now, they have probably just changed a few main details, and i know this isnt exactly Master Replicars here, but the saucer edge is that of the production version, look at the window formation on the toy, and look at the caps i posted, The Cage Enterprise only has two windows on the edge, the toy has six in its usual formation.

Also, the secondar hull has more windows than it should.

Its a buit nit-picky, but its just something i noticed whil looking at pictures of it the other day.

^^^Yeah I had noticed that as well. Still its a nice representation of the ship. :)
