Facebook is one of the primary interfaces people communicate on. Journalists quote what people say on it, intelligence agencies sift through it, stuff that happens on facebook is not necessarily less because it happened virtually rather than in front of a crowd in the street. So yes, what gets censored by Facebook is relevant. It's easy to say people take it too seriously, but at this point it's like going back to the 70's and saying people take what's said on the phone too seriously. It's communication, it has meaning.
