I have a love/hate relationship with this game.
I subbed for a year then closed my account after the debacle last fall of broken patches and optional patches to fix the broken patches.
This spring I re-subbed for a month to see what has changed. Many improvements, including numerous intermittent patches instead of one huge/buggy one every few months.
Still....
The game is just too "pew-pew" for me. They boast a player driven economy and corporations with stocks and taxing, but it's all fluff. There is no central bank, no central stock exchange. Unless you want to risk using the off-site player driven ones...which I wont.
I tried ST-online ad the one plus is that the missions are varied, actually interesting and fun. Eve missions are repetitive and boring.
I just wish ST-online had EVE's kick-ass graphics. STO's graphics are a little too cartoonish for my tastes.
Anyway, EVE has a long way to go. Too adolescent and not cerebral enough for those interested in the white collar side of space domination. I resub again for a month come this winter/2011 just to see what has changed. It has so much potential, but lousy direction IMO.
