The problem is that I never get attracted to a girl until AFTER I've gotten to know her and developed a friendship.

You've never tried to 'get together' with one of your female friends?

Once, when I was 18, but nothing ever came of it. Turns out she liked me a couple years earlier, but by the time I realized I liked her, she was over me.

Since then, I haven't really had any good female friends. Well, there's one, but she has two babies with another of my friends, so that would be awkward.

Something similar happened to me. In high school there was this one girl who was adorable (she's Korean, and stunning), and we became good friends. Well, some years later (about 3 years after graduation), she tells me "I always wanted to ask you out. I had a big crush on you." I just said "Why didn't you?" She answers "because I knew you were a Christian and wouldn't want to go all the way, but I just thought you were the smartest, sweetest man alive."

And I said "Dammit!"

Okay, well no, actually I said, "Well I had a crush on you too." Which isn't as dramatic, but the first response, not the second one was what I was thinking. The second response is what came out. Hey, I'm not the smartest, sweetest guy for nothing! Anyway, I've long since let that go (she moved to Texas), but I think about it from time to time.
