Reading many posts there seems to be a difference of opinion between people who reguard the Trek Novels to be extensions of the series and films, and people who think that novels have no legitimate claim to know what may or may not happen in the unknown future of Trek, what gives??
Reading many forums I have noticed that there's one called Trek Lit, which is not only about books but has writers and editors of the books participating there, and yet people keep starting threads about books in General Trek Discussion. What gives?
Simple answer: the books aren't canon. But they are official. And with the shows off the air and the guy who made the canon rule dead, canon doesn't matter any more. You want to know what happens next, it's the books or nothing.
Dear mod: how about killing this thread or moving it to TrekLit?
