Are there upconverter devices for Video Game consoles?

I know for example certain DVD players brag that they upconvert their DVD signals to the HDTV for better resolution, but does anybody know if similar devices exists to accommodate game consoles?

I dont believe so. The 360 and PS3 are already in 1080P and when you play games from Xbox, PS2 or PS1 on those systems they pretty much upscale them as much as possible. The Wii is in 480P.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Gamecube... Any tricks for that?

the best way I can think of is to buy a Wii and get the component cable for it. The Wii is fully backwards compatible with the gamecube.

Yes, kindof.

You can run all of your Gamecube games on a new Wii (Wii is fully backwards compatible - it'll also take GC controllers if you lift up the top panel) - it will upscale the GC games to 480p.

Edit: as clint[/i] said.

Even so, Wii games don't look great on an HDTV ... so be prepared for your GC games to look absolutely horrible on a big HDTV.
