Are there two copies of Kirk's corpse existing in the same space time?

One in deep space and the other on Veridian III?

I don't believe the Nexus swallows everything since it left the planet and its various ecosystems intact.

Kirk didn't 'die' on the 1701-B - he was "sucked in" or "absorbed" by the Nexus.

If he had died, Picard wouldn't have found him chopping wood. He'd have found him rotting. You know?

The nexus may not absorb planets and space ships - but it does seem to 'absorb' lifeforms.

Indeed, and when the Nexus passes over Veridian III (the first time), you clearly see Picard and Soran disappear.

Why would Kirk's "echo" die in the Nexus? Was Guinan's "echo" really alive in the Nexus or was her "echo" made out of Nexus' energy?

The echo seemed to be there because Guinan was ripped form the Nexus. Kirk galloped out of his own free will and wanted no part of it. I'd say no. No echo.

^Well that may be. I always thought that a person leaves an "echo" in the Nexus regardless of the circumstances of their departure (willing or not) from the Nexus.

I thought that is what the original poster, Xerxes1979, was asking about, Kirk's corpse on the planet and Kirk's "echo" in the Nexus traveling in space.

Inside the Nexus, time seems to lose meaning: Kirk entered simultaneously with Picard, after all.

So probably the "echo" is simply the person who entered and hasn't left yet... It's only the interaction between the various "passengers" of the Nexus that creates the illusion that some might be longstanding tenants while others are recent arrivals.
