Does anyone still read the Buffy comics by the way?
It started way back in 2007 with Season 8, and I know Season 11 just finished a couple of months ago (although the seasons are all of varying length with issues)
I gave up after Season 9, after how s8 ended up going really OTT and was big mess by the end, they promised to tone it down for s9. That lasted about 4 issues, with the robot Buffy, and bringing in Illyria for no much reason. And promoting how the Senior Partners were gonna appear and then doing nothing at all with them, and that 3 parter they featured in was so lame. And worst of all I hated the way they so clumsily and forcefully shoehorned in that pointless gay character, who was literally only there to say "Hey I'm a gay character!" rather than actually having any relevance whatsoever to anything to all, and his sexuality being a side issue. (haven't got a problem with gay characters btw, just saying how badly I thought it was done)
Sometimes I feel like it'd be nice to catch up with the later runs of the comic, but I'm hesitant to spend the money on the trades if they're of the same "not-great" quality.
