Are there any fan-favorite/well liked Characters (from any Trek) that you just can't stand?

For me some well liked characters I can't stand are Kes and (please please don't come after me) Dr. McCoy (Bones).
I just think Kes is boring at most. She didn't really add anything to Voyager for me, though I can admit, Before and After predicting the Year of Hell was pretty cool and the episode was really fun.
Bones is a witty and cool character but he's just (lowkey) (I'm sorry) not a good doctor. (in my opinion, of course :weep:)
Excited to hear your opinions!!

Can't stand? Hmm. No, I really can't think of any that I just can't stand, especially ones who are beloved.

However, there are some characters whose opinions I've changed on over time. Picard stands out. As I've gotten older, I've realized Phillipa Louvois was right. Picard really is a pompous ass.

Also, I really am not fond of Beverly Crusher. I think Pulaski was a much, much better doctor and a much better character.

Also, I could take or leave Seven of Nine. Jeri Ryan is a great actress, but I think the show was better without that character. I much prefer seasons 1-3 of Voyager. Then again, I love seasons 1-2 of TNG, and TMP is my favorite Trek movie, so it is just possible I may tend to go against the grain.

Nobody I can’t stand, but I’ve certainly seen Picard described as having humility and been mystified (aside from that one time at the end of “Q Who”).

He does, but he also most definitely has his 'arrogant' moments as well.

Much as a dick as Q could be, I do think he taught Picard some important lessons over all those years.

One reason I rank DS9 lower than others is because I found some of the characters really off-putting.

Specifically, Kira and Odo.

I liked Odo, especially in tandem with Quark. Kira? Nana Visitor simply didn't work for me. I don't know if it was the writing, the directing or her own choices, but she was the whiniest freedom fighter in the known galaxy.

Q. Quark and Seven of Nine. I've warmed to Seven over the years but the whole Borg aspect irritates me to no end. Q is insufferable and arrogant, while Quark is completely untrustworthy and that's supposed to be charming.

Morally ambiguous characters have been a staple of fiction since the beginning of the written word.
And...I do not care for many of them. Had friends in high school obsessed with such characters and criminal element and praising that life. See it with the Pirates of the Caribbean series too. People are all in on characters who would rob you without a second thought.

That's...not for me. And always a bit disturbing to my dumb brain the praising of antisocial behavior.

Confusion. I lack the antisocial streak to praise this behavior or find it desirable as escapist fantasy. Escapism for me is always suspicious.

No one is praising the behavior in a real world context.

We are all into fantasy, at some level, or else we wouldn’t be here.

Just an example: I believe police should be held to the highest standards possible, as they have power over us. Same time? God damn, I love Dirty Harry movies.
