Are the Romulans the aliens who abducted Gary Seven?

Listen, I watched the entire season and I still cannot even tell you why Tallinn looked like Laris. Were we given a reason for that? Was there something I missed?
The same actress. In story, who cares? Folks can look alike without being related whatsoever. It happens. Spock's dad looks a lot like a Romulan Commander. No one cares.

Because they made a point of calling it out in the story. No one ever looked at the Romulan Commander and said, "Hey, isn't that Spock's dad?" But Picard thought Tallinn was Laris at first. If it was just the same actress playing two different roles, why call it out like that? Also, the actress was *still* playing the character of Laris this season. So having her play another character at the same time is kind of an unusual decision unless there was a reason for it, like Brent Spiner playing Data and Lore.

No.

There's a funny bit in the novelverse about actors playing multiple roles....it seems that Gul Danar (from DS9's Past Prologue) was evaluated by the Obsidian Order as a possible candidate for undercover missions, because of his facial structure being similar to several other races. A nice nod to Vaughn Armstrong playing so many different characters. :techman:

No, the obsession with connecting every dot is one of the failings of modern trek. They hired and actress who they wanted to make more use of than they did last season. The in show appearance needs no explanation. That's spoon feeding inanity.

Well, they met the Romulan first (except Spock of course). They'd have been more likely to look at Sarek and say he looks like that Romulan they fought once.
