Are The Q Telepathic?

Also a possibility: he went forward in time and nabbed Harry Kim seconds before Admiral Janeway was about to pin a second pip on his collar, reconstituting him as a puppy.

When he flashed Puppy Kim back, he "forgot" to reconstitute him back to Human Kim. Q does like to be an arse across multiple timestreams simultaneously.

Anyway - presumably when they're in The Continuum "beyond our comprehension" they're not having a natter in The Queen's English. Their telepathic power is likely off the scale.

Given how Q enjoyed staging things as a game / challenge, he likely uses telepathy only as much as needed to set his game of the episode in motion. If he knows exactly what everyone is thinking / doing as events transpire, it would detract from the entertainment value.

My point. Because Q could have done all those things and more, we didn't have a definitive answer.
Then why did you ask a question that you know doesn't have, and couldn't possibly have, a conclusive answer, since none has ever been forthcoming on the shows and they have no need or desire to explain it? You asked a question whose only answer could possibly be speculation, and then seemed disappointed when speculation was offered, as if you were expecting more. Q is the very definition of technology so advanced it is indistinguishable from magic. That's likely all we'll ever know.

now you’re talking fantasy. Discussions about Q should remain lodged in some form of reality rather than ridiculous claims like this.

Welll, they aren't described as omniscient. If they were, then they would know what's in your thoughts, because they would know everything.

And then there's what Quinn candidly said: "But you mustn't think of us as omnipotent, no matter what the Continuum would like you to believe. You and your ship seem incredibly powerful to lifeforms without your technical expertise. It's no different with us. We may appear omnipotent to you, but believe me, we're not."

Interesting thought about the Q - what if (what currently is known as Simulation Theory) is true, and the Q just happen to have created / run / have the source code to manipulate the simulation? From our vantage point, they are omnipotent, they appear to be energy creations, they can slide around time and space, create pocket universes and other simulations.....

There's no reason whatsoever to require that the puppy Q produced isn't as real as any real natural-born puppy.

Yeah.

I have no doubt it was. Which is why it was a little disturbing when he apparently zapped the unfortunate pooch out of existence at the end of the scene.

Well, maybe he just put him back into whatever universe he dognapped him out of. Maybe it was even the Prime universe with the same quantum signature, just within the Federation somewhere.

Maybe it was an off-planet puppy mill somewhere. And for a few short seconds, the wretched little creature knew what it was like to be cuddled and have his ears stroked... then Q zapped him back to where he was.

The puppy went to a farm upstate, where he could run free....

That's a happier outcome than mine, to be sure. Maybe said farm was in Bloomington... maybe Janeway encountered him again (as an adult dog of course), after Voyager returned home.
