The ship being Catullan is a retcon. The Lower Decks comic came out decades after Unification. Plus it's a comic
I was only referring to the TOS episode. I haven't seen much of LD
The episode only calls it a cruiser. No planet of origin is given. So the LD comic got that wrong.
