Or perhaps these; even more "imperial" and "Orwellian" then the old towers.

As for One World Trade Center--I actually rather like the main part of the tower. The effect is quite interesting.

It's the base that's the problem, at least to my eyes. Plus, I'm not wild about the top. They should have stuck with the same concept from top to bottom.

I wouldn't have minded a concept I saw that featured a cluster of five buildings with the center one taller than the rest!
