Archer on FX

It's funny. But except for Benjamin, the four main characters on Archer (Archer, Lana, Cyril and Sterling's mom) look enough like the actors who voice them that you could actually use the actors in a live action Archer movie:
Lana
Cyril
Mallory (Sterling's mom)

And put a brunette wig on Judy Greer and she could play Cheryl no problem.

I would love to see that.

I've always assumed that they purposefully modeled the characters on the actors.

That's what I had heard until I saw a picture of H. Jon Benjamin and thought he looks nothing like Archer. The others do as far as I can tell. Not sure about the voice of Pam, Gillette (my new favorite), Kreiger, etc.

I'd say John Hamm looks more like Bogart than Jessica Walter does Mallory Archer! Lana is the closest, for the rest the resemblance is pretty vague.

I may have missed it, but all I see there is that she thought the character drawing looked like her when she auditioned. At any rate, show creator Adam Reed said in an AV Club interview that the characters were all based on Atlanta-area models.

Mallory Archer may have a passing resemblance to Walter straight on, but the profiles are quite different, especially the bridge of the nose. Also Walter has big brown eyes and Mallory has smaller light blue eyes.

Yep, next week should be the final ep for the season. I agree with you on this week's episode. Not bad, but I can't remember any great jokes. More action than comedy, and the few jokes fell a bit flat for me.

They should just throw Ray, Krieger and Pam into a some situation together. Writes itself.
