Apple iPhone 3G - Good or Bad?

That's fantastic guys, many thanks.:techman:

My existing phone is working fine but is limited but after all your advice I think I'll wait till the summer and get the new version. After reading all your opinions though, it'll be as hard as waiting for the new Trek movie ;)

Thanks again.

I'm quickly leaning towards buying one of these bad boys, but going to hold out until this summer for the reported new hardware. No reason to wait MOST of a year, and then buy the old hardware right before the new stuff comes out, gotta future-proof myself a little at least. As long as the old (original) RAZR holds out, I'm good.

Going to be disappointing to get rid of my old calling plan, though. I've got my original one from 2001, and only pay $30/month after taxes and such. Not a lot of minutes (250 anytime, 1000 night and weekend), but never ran over it, so not a biggie. I could keep it and just add the iPhone data package, but figured that it made sense to combine the account with my Fiance's account at the same time, rather than us both paying for seperate accounts. The normal $40/month plan, plus the extra $10 to make it a Family plan, is still a ton better than what we pay combined right now, so we'll go that route this summer...

The next iPhone upgrade will include being able to send picture via text message as well as being able to "rotate" the "keyboard" lengthwise on the phone for typing/replying to email and text, and the ability to copy and paste (among other things).

I loves me my iPhone 3G. :techman:

Just curious: Why would someone need a BB instead of an iPhone?

Some businesses are only set up to support their corporate e-mail on Blackberries.

They're certainly capable of setting up Exchange to work with the iPhone, but if your IT department hasn't done that, there's nothing you can do about it.

For the record, my company doesn't support the iPhone, so I just don't get my work e-mail on it. Not my problem! (But for some people that matters, you know?)

I thought it might have something to do with that.
