Well, here i am still in hospital. Was supposed to be home today but they want to keep close eye on the wound. The cardiologist said i'd be fine to in today if the surgeon said ok. The surgeon said i'd be fine to go tomorrow, when she saw me, if the wound isn't oozing. Then told me the cardio said another 48 hours in the notes. i am not happy, but i suppose a few more days now is better than a longer time later... Still...

^ after my appendectomy they sent me home after a couple days in the hospital, then at home the wound got infected (I don't think the stitches were put in right), and it produced this awful fluid and I had to be on major antibiotics for a couple weeks.

Not that it's going to happen to you, of course!

Actually, the purpose of the appendix has been determined to be a warehouse for good bacteria that lives within the GI tract. If some disease kills the good bacteria and/or is flushed a way, it provides a way to replenish the system.

While it is not used as much in developed areas of the world, in lesser developed areas it is more important.

Eh, you just eat some yogurt and you'll be fine.

Well I just got home, and glad to be. But man it's hard doing stuff with a stapled incision down the whole bottom half of your abdomen.

staples are due to be removed monday I believe. Till then district nurse is supposed to come every day to clean and change the dressings. Damn it can be painful to cough, sneeze or laugh though.

I guess I'm gonna be in a medical journal or something, the doctors asked if they could take pictures and stuff while I had a huge shot of morphine in me, so I'm sure I agreed.
