Appendix has been removed

I can't stay on long since i'm posting on my phone, but i just thought i'd post. After a long and painful weekend i went A&E to find the gp had misdiagnosed me and instead of a uti i had to have my appendix removed which they didn't like my odds with my heart/lung problem. So they transferred me to a specialist centre. It's taken half the week but it's done and i'm on the mend, i hope.

Actually, the purpose of the appendix has been determined to be a warehouse for good bacteria that lives within the GI tract. If some disease kills the good bacteria and/or is flushed a way, it provides a way to replenish the system.

While it is not used as much in developed areas of the world, in lesser developed areas it is more important.
