Anyone watching Harper's Island?

FYI, I added a bit to the end of my previous post. It would be difficult to make Trish convincing as the killer. Not impossible though. I think the biggest thing that points to Henry is his vague history (parents, etc.) that was brought up but never explored in any detail. Like I said, it would make for a good traditional rant that a killer does at the end when victory seems certain right before the tables turn.

As I think more about it, I'm not certain that Jimmy will die. Abby has lost too much and didn't her father specifically tell her to stick with Jimmy or something? Instead of dying he might just be critically injured fighting with Henry or Wakefield.

Biggest moment of stupidity in the series so far happened in this episode. Wakefield shows up in the cannery with a huge horkin knife. Shane decides he's gonna duel him. Trish grabs a shotgun and runs in the other direction... What a freaking tard! I don't care if she's never fired a gun in her life! Why the hell wouldn't she point and shoot!
That annoyed me, too. There were several people in the bar, vs one guy who isn't going to stop till he's killed you. So why not just gang up on him and try to take him down? It's the best shot you'll have. Let Shane keep him busy waving knives at each other while the girls throw liquor bottles at him to keep him off balance and that gives Trish time to aim and take her best shot. Even a super scary serial killer can't do much against a continual hail of heavy glass objects objects raining down on him.

In fact, maybe Shane should join in with the liquor-bottle-hurling strategy rather than get into a knife fight at all. It's easy to assume that Wakefield would be an expert in the weapon he chooses to bring to the party, so the smart thing to do is to attack him while keeping well out of arm's reach. Just encircle the guy and clobber him with all the crap in the bar till he's dead. Whatever you do, don't fight on his terms.

Also, when they were all in the drain looking for the last blond girl to get killed, wasn't Henry shooting right at killer? Of course in TV world, this doesn't necessarily mean a whole lot.

I think these people took courses in Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship. ;)

I realize it's easy for us to be armchair quarterbacks and that it could be difficult to predict how people might react when faced with a real threat to their life. I can understand Madisson's mom making getting Madisson out of there her number one priority but when Trish grabs the gun and says "lets run into this other room" when Shane already had her covered with his knife...

Hey digits, I notice your profile says you're a head shrinker. Are you a psychiatrist? Just curious since I'm doing my residency for family medicine.

No, no medical school for me.

I have a Doctorate in Psychology. I'm licensed in California, and I'm the Clinical Director for a veterans service agency.

That's great that you're becoming a physician. I have a lot of respect for what you guys go through. Much tougher than what I did.

:techman:

I think the second killer is that one guy that fat boy buried. The one who supposedly shot himself and then died almost instantly. He had taken a serum that made him appear to have no pulse to fat boy and slowed his breathing significantly. And yes, he was buried, but because his breathing was slower he was able to hold it in until fat boy left and he could dig himself out...or something like that.

I mean, shooting yourself? Come on.

Honestly I have no idea who it is. This past episode was pretty good though. I actually felt very sad when the British guy died and Chloe went after him.

^I always assumed that it was really the killer who shot him but they both just assumed it was Booth because he was holding a gun.

I agree, Cal & Chloe's deaths are the most painful there's been (and are likely going to be).

Hah, thanks! I think the toughest part is behind me now (clinical rotations in med school). One year and two days of residency left to go!

I also found that scene really emotional. Reminded me of that excellent scene in The Last of the Mohicans when Magua kills Uncas, then Alice steps off the cliff to join him rather than be taken by Magua.

At this point I don't know who the killer is either. I think we're expected to believe it's Jimmy, but they could be leading us astray! When the blond guy and the black dude were alone, I was kinda getting a bad vibe from the blond guy, almost expecting him to whirl around with a meat cleaver or something, but I guess by this point I'm seeing killers behind every pot & pan!

Oh, and Trish is too hot to be a killer! Can't be her. Unless that's what they want us to think! :D

Gah, I'm still flip-flopping between Henry and Madison. Neither are particularly good as the killer since they both require fairly dumb rationales to make work, but I honestly cannot see any one else even remotely as a candidate.

-I think Henry is definitely Wakefield's son.

-Being Wakefield's son doesn't necessarily mean he's the killer.

-I don't think Madison necessarily has to die - unless she's the killer of course.

-Abby will definitely survive.

-If Henry doesn't survive, Trish just might.

-Henry and Trish will not both survive.

-If Henry is the killer, he will kill Trish.

Okay I got another theory, even dumber, which better not come true. :D Shay is being driven insaaaane with rage at her cheating hubby and taking her rage out on the whole wedding party and helping Wakefield slaughter everyone. Both Henry and Madison are innocent.

Or, hmm. How do we know Wakefield and the other killer have ever been in cahoots? It might be interesting if it were a mere coincidence that there are two killers on the loose at once? Maybe I should stop looking for a connection between Wakefield and the other killer.
