Anyone Watch 'Ghost Hunters' on SciFi?

I have been watching for a couple of years now. I find it pretty interesting, because they actually try and disprove an alleged haunting, rather than taking it at face value.

There was a new episode last night where they visited an old plantation outside of New Orleans. Their thermal imager spotted what appeared to be a person peering into one of the windows, but when they tried to replicate it with someone standing outside of the window, it didn't work. That was odd.

Yes, I watch the show. I haven't had time lately because I've been so busy, but I still enjoy it. There was a thread about ghost hunting type shows a couple of weeks ago where everyone argued about the validity of them, so that's probably why people are shying away from this thread.

Anyway, I didn't catch the most recent episode but I am planning to do so soon. They have had some pretty interesting things pop up over the years.

I am sort of interested in people's ghost stories and experiences, so I check out these types of shows. I like the shows that focus on families that have problems in their homes more than the "historical" places. I haven't been impressed with much of the 'evidence' but I do like most of the cast. Especially Tango, Grant, and Jason, but Steve has gotten to be more and more insufferable. He's not too bright, thinking that the Underground Railroad was an actual railroad with tracks, but he isn't as awful as Andy Andrews.

Don't watch Ghost Hunters International then. Andy is one of the main investigators on that show.

I like Steve, he seems like a cool guy, but yeah he's not bright and aside from going out to look for "ghosts" the guy is a big pussy.

I think Andy is the guy I cannot stand on GHI. His voice sounds like a woman's and he is insufferably know it all. His eyes bug out too much too.

He would scare me in the dark more than any ghost.

I give GHI a thumbs down. They make ghost hunting, even in Europe, seem boring.

I cannot stand Andy! He's really full of himself, for reasons unknown to me. Steve and his spider fears get old after a while, but his practical jokes make me laugh.

There are many of people who believe that Jason and Grant are being pressured by the network to make their show more interesting, and that Ghost Hunters is now faking a lot of evidence because of it.

But I still watch it.

I miss Brian, though. "Dude--Run!!"

I think Steve being a pussy is one of their plot lines. The guy has an immense amount of phobias, more than anyone I've ever known. They also always show them jumping in the commercial and it is always a bug or something non ghost related. Assuming ghosts are real, they must really be very transient and fleeting or they'd be as common as rocks or birds and we wouldn't need to go investigating, but they go out to a place one night and expect to find something. I believe they are faking the EVPs and there was that infamous footage from that old prison where it looks like somebody in a dark blanket running towards the camera and then running backwards-fake cgi. They also like to use the guy down the hallway on the thermal cam.

I heard recently that Brian had retired from TAPS to spend time with his family. All of a sudden he stopped showing up on GHI episodes without explanation, and I had wondered what that was about.

I have to say that I do not like the show's recent use of the K2 meter. That thing seems to go off every week, without fail. I would prefer if they stopped using it altogether, as it distracts from far more legitimate evidence.

I watch the show when I have time, and I've always enjoyed it and found it interesting My favorite episode is the one set in the light house (I think it was in Florida). They kept hearing the voice at the top and seeing someone lean over the railing, and that was pretty neat.

I show that scene to lots of people and most of them are pretty freaked out by it. It was pretty damned cool.

Ah, yes. The St. Augustine lighthouse episode.

That one truly seemed to be a legit haunting. Spooky stuff.

I heard that Brian broke his contract, and that was the reason his disappearance went with absolutely no explanation on the show.

The St. Augustine lighthouse is still my favorite episode.

Putting the little kid's tiara on Tango's head and getting him to walk around the whole night believing it was a light or something was his best practical joke. I don't think he's topped that one.
