Anyone use a Motorola Devour??

So My LG EnV has a design defect. A simple tap on the back of the battery plate shuts the phone off. I keep it in my pocket mostly and find it extremely annoying.

Turns out it's a problem with all EnVs, so the verizon store offered me an early upgrade with a free phone. Among the offerings is the Motorola Devour, which is a smartphone.

As such, I would have to purchase a plan that includes data. I'm already paying about $100 a month anyway, so this would tack on about $30.

The phone also comes with a $100 rebate, even though it's free, so score +1 for that...

It's a bit of an older phone that came out about a year ago. Reviews on-line are mixed. Cnet found it a pretty decent phone, but user reviews are all over the place.

So.. Do any of you have the Devour? If so, what do you think of it?

Sorry I don't have it, but I thought I'd mention that Engadget gave it a 6/10: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/09/motorola-devour-review/

I trust Engadget the most out of the many tech blogs available, though admittedly they're a bit more geek-focused (so first-time smartphone users would probably be less critical in reviewing the same phone). cNet used to be awesome, but IMO they're something of a joke at this point.

Upgrading to any smartphone is rarely a bad choice. Android is a solid operating system, and despite the age of the Devour I think it would be a solid step up from your EnV.

Are you still considering, or did they swap you out already?
