Anyone seen this Romulan ship before

I came across this TOS style Romulan Warbird in one of the Marvel comics from the 90s.

I really like the design, and how it creates a better design lineage for Romulan starships. Was this ever seen anywhere else besides this one comic? It seems so basic that it's hard to believe no one else ever came up with it, but I've been unable to find any other uses of the design anywhere online.

Anyone else ever seen this anywhere else?

Nope. I did see a version that used the D7 in that matter with with the boom on only one hull to get a similar effect for a TUC era warbird.

ryan123450, I remember seeing that also.
Was that the comic in which Scotty went on some covert mission into Romulan space?

Anyway, I kind of scratched my head and wondered about the purpose of duplicating the primary hull like that.

It looks like this TOS-era Romulan double hull was supposed to be the design that leads to the Romulan starship seen in NG. :vulcan:

Can I add this?

:)

LOL.

For those not in the know, when Ed Miarecki built the five kitbashed starships used in the graveyard scene in "Best of Both Worlds," he also built another unfinished model which ended up not being used. It consisted of one large 1/1400 Enterprise-D nacelle, with two smaller 1/2500 Enterprise-D saucers and necks above and below the nacelle. Basically the upper saucer is the "saucer section" and the lower saucer acted as the secondary hull. I'm in the process of building a replica of it using the original parts. It's going to be labeled "U.S.S. Tolstoy" :)

^ Huh, must've worked for me since I visited the forum thread first. Well, just follow the thread link and go to the very last entry, there's a link there. There's also inline WIP images in the thread.

But I'm not logged in, can still see the pics. Tell you what, I'll upload it to imgur so we can be sure everyone can see it. I doubt Rev will have an issue with that, since it really is a cool design.

Oh dear, another project I never got around to finishing! I think I may have made a start on the Enterprise-C era version but never posted it. Buggered if I know where it is now as that was something like four PCs ago. ;)

For future reference, the flare upload thing should work if you copy & paste the URL instead of clicking as IIRC it was set-up to prevent hotlinking.

That would be interesting to se in 3D form...

I *think* someone had a bash at it in 3D some years back. Don't recall who or where though.

Here we go.
