Uhh, what cliffhanger? The series concluded with a happy ending, albeit a somewhat contrived one.
Even though the Flash had been brainwashed into joining the Trickster, his reputation seemed to recover easily, to the point that the series ended with Central City erecting a new welcome sign declaring itself the home of the Flash.
If that's true they must have not broadcast the final episodes in my area.
They have pre-emted it so many times I could not keep track of it. I have the DVD's and have been watching them. Here all this time I thought the show ended with all the villians teaming up to get him.
Quick Trek Question:
By the way is "Watching the Clock" going to be a trilogy of books? I loved the time police starships in Voyager. If that was the Department of Temporal Investigations?
I really liked the Nightshade episode (with a retired hero who didn't have superpowers).
I have in my head, a superhero team loosely based on the Nightshade character.
That was one of my favorite episodes also. Was that written by Howard Chaykin? I was reading the credits and noticed he was one of the writers on staff.
There was never any such episode. The only villain who made a return appearance was the Trickster in the season finale, and there were no villain-teamup episodes, unless you count the Trickster's groupie/sidekick Prank in the finale. And there were no 2-parters, so no episode ever ended in a cliffhanger (except for part 1 of the pilot in reruns).
These were my favorite episodes. I enjoyed the idea of a Noir like character predating the Flash and Bernard played the role perfectly.Fun series. Especially enjoyed the two episodes with the 1950's hero Nightshade portrayed by Jason Bernard.
And, ya know, Amanda Pays.![]()
I remember there was an unaired Justice League pilot from CBS a decade later. I purchased it at a comic shop. I was surprised to see David Ogden Stiiers as Martian Manhunter. It was a decent 90 minute movie only I don't think the network was aware of the the sci fi audience out there who would watch that material. The Flash was portrayed by another actor, however they didn't stress the costumes so much as their super powers.
Not to mention they were combining about three different Green Lanterns into one with that suit.
Blame the Batman movies.I saw clips. Looked awful.
Yes. It did look awful.
What's with the plastic vampire brow-pieces on the the Flash and... um... the atom?
He played a doctor on All My Children for a year or two in the mid-ninties.I just purchased the one and only season of The Flash. The actor who portrayed him, John Wesley Ship was on Dawson's Creek, but has he appeared in any other show?
Recently played a real sleezy slug of a character on One to Live to also. It was very jarring to see him playing such a character, when all I recall seeing in the apst was "nice guys" roles. He played a doctor on All My Children for a year or two in the mid-ninties.I just purchased the one and only season of The Flash.
