I also had a couple of Trapper Keepers. The Pee Chees seem vaguely familiar but I never had one, nor did anyone I know.

I'm ashamed to admit, I begged my parents for Lisa Frank stuff.
Pee-Chees were before my time, but my teachers still told us confused 7th graders "no pee-chees!".

Oh god, I had lisa frank stuff, too! Pees chees and trapper keepers were before my time, but I did have those big zip up binders that someone earlier said you could carry your life in. I think i had a different one of those every year. A couple of them were lisa frank. oh, and in the fifth grade, i had one with a plastic photo sleeve on the front so you could put your pictures on the cover... it was sweeet. man, i want to go school shopping now! 
yeah I loved Lisa Frank, though the new stuff(the art) these days doesnt seem to have the charm the old stuff did...
also anyone noticed how long those b&w compostion notebooks have been around? I think they were around long before Pee chees...

I wonder why I'd never heard of Pee Chees until this thread. Sounds like I'm about the right age.

Mine was only a weapon against me. I constantly pinched my finger in the snapping metal closure.
Me too!! Well, I wasn't six, but I loved it. It was very 'cool' during middle school years to be carrying one of those.

I graduated in the late 80s and still used pee-chees. I'd take 6 or 7 of them and tape 'em together with duct tape (they never got torn or worn out!), using one for each class. I'd also draw tiny circles all over the front and back...just doodling to pass the time in boring classes!
When it came time for my own kids to hit the books, I couldn't believe I was unable to find any real pee-chees!
Also, I went to a private school (Catholic) and I thought some of the rules were kind of out there, but we never had to organize our stuff a specific way, or buy specific brands, as some in this thread had to...that's just insanity! If the reasoning for that is money... That's just life, some people can afford expensive things, some can't...pretending otherwise teaches kids NOTHING. Kinda like the trophies for everyone...win or lose...but I'm getting way off topic now.

Never heard of them. By the 80's we had upgraded our folder technology to Trapper Keepers.
Funny, I forgot about those. Looks like the box Megatron comes in using Reebok's old font.
I had family working at the THERMOS company plant in Taftvill Connecticut so I always got THE latest and greatest lunchboxes right off the line. Once I was able to impress a girl (GRADE SCHOOL) by getting her a Strawberry Shortcake themed box and Thermos from my uncle.
Sad day when that plant closed down...
Hey, don't worry about it! The people of Taftville pay 10% less for their lunchboxes now that they are made in Taiwan.

I had a Trapper Keeper, but they ended up being banned at my school. Their reasoning was that kids were standing them up on their desks, making little cubicles out of them. And, of course, the teacher wouldn't know what you were up to in there--usually sleeping, though.
Plus, they were a constant theft risk.

Oh please. You can make cubicles out of regular folders!
Yes, but they don't stand up quite as sturdily, unless you happen to buy very nice (>$1 apiece) folders.
Had pee chees. I remember how they smelled when new. And my first Trapper was a Batman theme. Loved the Trapper- it felt so hi-tech and cutting edge. It was just too cool. 1st metal lunchbox? Sesame Street. 2cnd? Star Wars! With the matching Thermos! God i loved that thing! Remember those funky rings in the Trapper? push up and pop out? Used to hate those! They'd wear as teh year went on and eventually wouldn't stay fastened, leading to numerous "papers on the ground/in the street" incidents in Spring.
My first lunchbox was a TNG one.
