Anyone missing a Llama?

Thespeckledkiwi

Vice Admiral
Apparently one wandered away and up a mountain. Luckily it was saved after a month, but seriously...llama's are so domesticated now they can't live in the wild? WTF?

The Southwest Llama Rescue group coordinated efforts to capture Homer before he fell prey to mountain lions, coyotes or the coming winter. The group says llamas are domesticated animals and don't have the instincts to survive in the wild.

Hmmm, never knew that. I thought llamas were both wild and domesticated pack animals. Kind of like...well buffalo or horses.

He'll only lose his ears :( But he should be okay.

I would offer him a place to stay but unfortunately I don't have a backyard, my dog wouldn't like him, and they spit.

Anyone missing a Llama?
Yes.

I caddied for the guy and he stiffed me, feeding me some line about receiving total consciousness on my deathbed instead of giving me a proper tip ... Oh, llama.

There are two species of wild camelids in South America, the vicuña and guanaco, from which alpacas and llamas were domesticated from respectively. All llamas and alpacas are domesticated - any living in the wild are considered feral.

I see a screenplay in this somewhere.

Indeed. It will be written by Earl J. Llama, Mike Q. Llama III, Sy Llama, and Merle Z. Llama IX.

And directed by:

40 specially trained Ecuadorian mountain llamas
6 Venezuelan red llamas
142 Mexican whooping llamas
14 North Chilean guanacos (closely related to the llama)
Reg Llama of Brixton
and 76,000 battery llamas from "Llama-Fresh" Farms Ltd. near Paraguay

GO MAXIS!

...Speaking of Llamas, please tell me that I am not the only one who first came to appreciate them when Will Wright used them to help market the SimCity series back in the 90's...

Boy, do I miss those days before the EA merger.
