Anyone hope Discover will last for 7 years like VOY, DS9, and TNG?

Due to this being basically a Netflix series, I wouldn't think it would last too long. In fact I would almost prefer it to be short and than CBS repurpose their sets for a new show. The Anthology approach actually sounded like a more interesting way to show a lot of Star Trek stories.

The dynamic in television has changed nowadays. With bingeing and streaming, folk can consume
at their leisure instead of appointment TV. A story arc of 40 to 50 hours could tell an awesome tale
with a few stand-alones. Sorta worked for DS9, but they had lots of loose ends to tie up because
of the sheer number of eps.

They also have the problem of "cannon" when and if we pick up after the "death" of Data. Enterprise and
now Discovery would have to be accounted for. IMO, that's why we haven't had a post Nemesis
series or movie.
