Since getting laid off last winter and looking for a job I've been applying to a number of bank teller jobs but no joy. Now I think I have a chance! I've been volunteering at the library and one of the women who works there told me of an opening at the credit union across the street where she just retired from and I got to put her name on my application as a reccomendation.
Anyway for those of you who work in a bank (if you're out there), I was wondering if it's an enjoyable experience for you or not. And what would the pay be for a starting part-timer?
I think I would enjoy working in a bank. My sister used to be a teller and she says it's pretty easy going and you just strictly follow rules without exception. This is good for me because professionally I'm a total stickler for the rules and I don't like making exceptions for people or cutting them breaks and whatnot. Also my favorite part of my last job (assistant manager at a video store) was doing the paper work at the end of night and counting the drawers and whatnot.
