Anyone Here Wish They Would Have Kept The Jackets From The Cage?

I mean the jackets are neat and all, but as to the notion of gearing our intrepid heroes up SG1 style I don't know. I mean, at least fifty percent of the time the gang beams down to a planet in TOS, they are either immediately disarmed or their weapons are useless. Even the aforementioned SG1 frequently relieves the crew of their gear as a plot device, because if the hero can shoot/scan/beam their way out of danger, then there's nowhere or the story to go.

Well, there is a difference between what is done for the sake of the story (transporter broken again?) and what would be practical in terms of an actual landing party. SG-1, regardless of what happens in the story, has reasons for the equipment they pack. Landing parties, in contrast, carry the base essentials for the job, and that's it.

I'm not saying they be fully outfitted, but a balance between the two. Which is why I like the Cage jackets, and the harnesses that are worn to carry equipment.

It doesn't have to be exactly like what was in The Cage, but there is nothing wrong with the concept.
