Space Shuttle Mission 2007?

I tried the demo after reading an article at Sim HQ and was immediately hooked, so I bought the whole thing for my birthday. It holds your hand pretty well while at the same time being very challenging (particularly playing around with the RMS and landing). Definitely gives you a feel for what astronauts go through on missions. Well, except for the weightlessness. And the food. And the toilet.

*Mods, if you think this should be in the Gaming forum, feel free to move it. I just figured with all the NASA interest in this forum, it might turn a few heads.

You might also be interested in Orbiter, a freeware program that also simulates shuttle ops from launch to landing. An added benefit is that it has add-on modules available for other craft both real and fictional...
Space:1999's Eagle Transport, the X-20 Dynasoar, the X-34A, and more. :)

Enjoy!

I got a lot of mileage out of Activision's old "Space Shuttle: A Journey into Space" game back in 1983 :)

Orbiter does a good job of simulating the physics, but the two knocks I have against it are that it doesn't do a good job of simulating the systems aboard the space shuttle (some of their fictitious craft are rather in depth) and it has a very large learning curve, requiring you to either memorize or print out their extensive manuals.
