Anyone Else Staying Spoiler-Free?

All,

I feel like Miley Cyrus up until two years ago, when Billy Ray came home drunk that time.

When it comes to the new "Trek" movie, I'm staying spoiler-free. Other than the trailers and the official description of the film, I've not looked into any of the details.

Anyone with me? If not, how far have you gone, spoiler-wise? First base? Second? Third?

How many of you have had the full "Billy Ray"?

Joe, bubblegummed

So are you saying you haven't heard the spoiler about the makeup sex between Kirk and Spock after they fight?

I'm staying on first base. Enough to satisfy my curiosity yet still give me enough mystery to look forward to.

No I'm not staying spoiler free-- I like to be soiled...it feels good in a strange way!!!! LOL

But seriously now...I can't stay spoiler free because I'm afraid I may be groaning and moaning in the theater --- and of course not in a good way. So by hearing about some disturbing things now I'm already prepared....and I've already heard a disturbing thing..I shan't of course spoil/soil you but it's disgusting and just UNNATURAL dammit and just thinking about it makes me want to go soil myself and then spoil myself to make myself feel better. Ahhh what a tangled web we weave.

<SNIP!>

Obscure reference alert.

And a serious post from you? The timeline HAS changed!

I'm all spoiled, if you must know. I don't go in for that for films I want to see but frankly I knew what the film was 'about' when it was announced many moons ago. And I'm not dumping on the film, really.

I see and read all the publicity stuff.

Trailers, tv spots, interviews, pictures, Countdown comics... But I have not and will not read spoilers from those who have seen the movie.

I know in a very general way what the film is about. I don't want to spoil it though. I don't want to know anything more than I do before that fateful midnight when I gain super powers, I mean, go to the movies.

I'm staying spoiler free.

Never been able to do it for any movie before, but this one... it just deserves it.

Kinda hard to discuss it when you run a sci-fi site.

I have no idea who Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray are, but yes I am staying mostly spoiler free.

There's been a few things let slip (either outright confirmation or hinting at something) around here (some of them in the so-called "Spoiler-free" thread above, which is kinda annoying), but I've only really gone so far as the official site info (dossiers etc), the trailers/tv spots and the Countdown comic.

I did think there would be spoiler titled threads everywhere by now, but it's actually been pretty civilized. Not sure how much longer that's going to last though.

I've been staying off the movie "spoiler" threads for weeks now. Only hearing what we're 'supposed' too.

I'm spoiler free. I like to pay 10 bucks and be surprised by the movie. If I know everything about the film, there's no surprise there. I'll be dissapointed all the way. so, I think it worths the long wait. It's quite tough, but I gotta do it !

Butch

so far, no major spoilers here. A few captions in contests may have given something away, but I'm avoiding the spoiler thread like miley should avoid her father :).

I really want to enjoy the movie and have a suprise here and there.

Staying Spoiler-Free?

I'm staying spoiler-free. Other than the trailers and the official description of the film, I've not looked into any of the details.

Shatmandu,
I've not even seen that 3rd trailer or any TV spots.
The other day I saw the white/black poster in the subway and I got a little excited.
I've been enjoying the TrekBBS for a number of subforums and watched a few episodes of my "Star Trek: Fan Collective - Borg" DVDs.

I'm only interested in Trek feature films, TV series, CGI cut scenes in a videogame, and a little bit in next years ST:O MMORPG videogame but not for the gameplay.
So I'm looking forward to official canon Trek this year!

For Star Wars Episode III, I actually went farther than that. My avoidance of spoilers actually involved avoiding the trailers (well, OK, I saw the teaser trailer, which doesn't really show anything anyway) and TV spots. Ideally, I'd like to do that for every movie. Go in without having seen a single frame of film or read a single line of plot description. That way, I'd have no preconceived expectations, and every plot twist, joke, and special effects shot would be new to me.

But there's no way I can show that kind of restraint for every movie.
