Anyone else here a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel?

Read the issues. The first three TPBs are out now, #1-15 in all.
Make up your own mind

I haven't seen them for yonks. I quite enjoyed them both. I used to watch Angel on SkyOne, then Channel 4 I think it was, in around 2001. That was the last time I saw it, when they stopped showing at series 4. I didn't have Sky after that since I was at University at the time. So I don't know how it ended :)

Overall, I found it to be a fun program; one of the better ones on television, but the occasional silliness in the story lines I didn't like. If the powers that be could have granted it, I'd have liked to have seen more demonology, some larger scale confrontations, and less of the mundane stuff.

At the time, yes. I wouldn't miss an episode. It was quite funny. I liked it when it didn't take itself seriously but I hated it when Buffy was whiney, and she became that a lot, over the years.

When "Angel" was made, I preferred it. But in my country, the last season was sort of swept under the carpet so I missed most of it. :(

You got out when the gettings was good. Although if you like large confrontations, the last seasons had them, although traditionally at the end of each season mostly. What they did is create more overbearing season-long villains, I guess.
I think I liked season 5 a lot.
The last season was lame, of course. One too many.

yep loved the buffy shows not so much when they were on the telly but once i got them on dvd i enjoyed them better

Love both shows. Buffy season 2 is my personal favorite and Angel seasons 2 and 5 are my favorites. I actually liked season 6 of Buffy because it ruffed up the characters a bit and I felt bad for them with all the shit they were going through that year.

I liked Buffy and the last season of Angel, which is the only season of Angel I've seen. (Sure, I start watching and they cancel it.) But I've picked up both comic book continuations - I wait until the compilations come out and then buy them, since I go through them too quickly otherwise. Does anyone know if the third volume of After the Fall has come out? (It would be issues 9 through 15 or so.) I'm actually enjoying the Angel comics more than the Buffy ones, even though when the series were on TV I preferred Buffy to Angel.

^ The third volume of Angel: ATF won't be out till March 2009, and will feature #9-12. The final volume will be out later on and have #13-17

Love both shows a lot. Some of the best TV ever made, IMO.

I really like Season 6 of BTVS. At the time, I didn't care for it, but after rewatching it recently on DVD, I suddenly proclaimed 'I GET IT!' and now its one of my favourite seasons. The problems in the season are more to do with real life, and not so much demons. The characters go through some really dark changes. And I love it!

I liked some of Buffy ok. It later annoyed me though. Angel was a good show overall, but it got a little repetitive and Connor totally ruined its rewatchability for me.

Fan.
I just got the Amazon gold box deal of the entire box set of Buffy for $60USD.
I sold my individual sets for $90USD and it all worked out fine.

Huh, I recently purchased the Buffy Box on Amazon for $70USD ($10 per season) and then two weeks later picked up the Angel Box for $50 ($10 per season) as well.

I'd been waiting for the best deals and fate just kind of complied.

$120 for 12 Seasons was a great deal.

Dr. Horrible will arrive shortly for $10 also.
