Anyone Else Getting the (Way Over Price) Real Ghostbusters on DVD?

I know it's way over priced. I know next year at this time, I'll be able to get it for $40-60 cheaper. I know I'll regret it this time next year. But I pre-ordered the Time Life Real Ghostbusters complete series DVDs.

Stupid Time Life charged me twice, and sent me two, because the customer service rep whom cancelled my first order (so I could re-place it with a coupon code) didn't log it in! Idiots. I've got the cancellation e-mail though, so all I have to do is send it back. They'll even e-mail me a shipping label. Damned inconvenient though.

That says, RGB is the definition of my childhood. Literally and figuratively. G.I. Joes, Ninja Turtles, none of the other kid fads of my childhood compare to Ghostbusters. So I could not resist owning it all, and owning it now. Even though the show is a bit mind-numbing to me as an adult. LOL. It's nostalgia, baby! You know? That and I look forward to sharing it with my 2 & 1/2 year old nephew. :)

So, having gotten them, maybe you can confirm or deny the rumors that they are the edited "syndicated" versions, not "as originally aired" and that a few eps are missing entirely...?

I'll be getting it when they release it in individual volumes, Walmart already has volume 1 up for preorder. It's much easier for me to get it this way, even though the Time Life set looks nice.

I would love to have this, but the price is too high. I even found a set for $20 cheaper on ebay, but it's still too much, for me.

For what it's worth, the Time Life page says they are uncut.

I'll rent them if Netflix gets them. Of course only the first couple of seasons are really worthwhile; it went downhill and got more kiddified later on, although the animation improved considerably in later seasons.

Thanks for the information!

You're right about the price...there's no reason why we should be paying more than about $45 a season at the most for box sets...anything above that is just gouging by the studios.
