Anyone else a fan of the Andorians?

Just started watching season 1, and I gotta say, I kinda like the Andorians.

And not just because they showed up to help Capt. Tucker and Tpol escape the rebel faction in episode 14.

Sure, they're a little paranoid and somewhat violent, but I kinda like how serious they take their Vulcan arch nemesis. Running around the entire sector, constantly trying to one up the Vulcans, trying to expose their pointy eared enemy's plots.

Interesting race, I sure wouldn't mind if they showed up in Discovery. (Though they'd probably get a Klingon style makeover :( )

Jeffrey Combs made Shran seem like a regular American to me and I didn't really like that about him. I think Andorians are a cool species and that they should be played as other than regular people painted blue. Having said that, I also hated the whole "pink skin" references, with Shran. They were - not to put too fine a point on it - retarded. I know a lot of ENT fans find that very quote-worthy, it's just lame and made Shran's characterisation seem even more "thin." I like Jeffrey Combs and don't really find him at fault. It's bad writing/directing. In fact, I feel pretty bad seeing him squinting all the time, with these blood-shot eyes, apparently dealing with fumes from the heavy make-up he had on! However there were Shran "moments" of which I'm quite fond. For example: When he led Archer on a personal tour of the ice-caverns of his home world, as they searched for some people. I also liked the interactions with his wife, in general. Also, I liked when he was torturing Soval, some of that was alright. And, naturally, when Shran enlisted the help of Archer to $ave his baby girl, I found that to be very touching and led to some heroic moments for Riker ... which didn't hurt!

Definitely enjoyed the Andorian stuff. I liked that a lot better than the Klingon stuff in TNG to be honest.

YES! Shran and the Andorian arc was one of the better things about ENT. I also quite like their updated look, after liking it initially in TOS anyway.

I hope they make an appearance in DIS at some point.

Love Shran and the Vulcan/Andorian conflict. I especially love in Babel One when Talas and a MACO punch on and kick the shit out of each other. I think it was neat for Enterprise to not have the alien races all chummy with one another so that there was a slow build to the Federation.

Yes. This 100%. Really hope we get to see more of the Andorians in future Trek.

Absolutely, Shran made the Federation's Andorian allies and one of the founding members of the Federation of Planets not just some abstract blue guys we happen to know, but a great species to be partnered with. Close to Earth, an ice world, a rich culture, and like us in many ways, as well as one with a problem with the Vulcans, too. I love the whole story line how the Humans and Andorians come together and help shape our Vulcan partners. It gives the Federation both Fire and Ice and everything in between.

The Andorians were the best, thanks to their inclusion in Enterprise. I wouldn't mind seeing them in Discovery, but honestly, it'd be hard to do it better than Jeffrey Combs and Scott Bakula did it already, and I'd rather see the magic happen again with new stories about the Tellarites. Let's complete the Federation pack by rounding out our last worthy partner and founding member, the Tellarites on Tellarite Prime with some stories that really sing.

I loved how the antennae wriggled on the ENT Andorians. Every time an Andorian came on the scene, my eyes became fixated on the movement of the antennae. It was such a cool feature of Andorians.

I still can't believe anyone would think that logically, T'Pol or Archer should have been able to avoid the Andorian Incident, given what they knew and when they knew it. Yet the way they seem to accept it, particularly T'pol, is crazy. Or that the VHC would think StarFleet, Archer, or T'Pol would buy into that line of flawed reasoning. Yet T'Pol said, I failed. B.S. Not her fault she wasn't told about the listening post or told to keep the Enterprise far away from anything Vulcan.

So instead of demonstrating that, hat in hand, they ask pardon and try to have others speak on their behalf.

I understand why you sometimes have to crawl and suck up even when you're right, but even behind the scenes, they didn't really seem outraged they had done nothing wrong and were still being blamed for all of it, and if anyone could appreciate the logic of their blamelessness, it should be a Vulcan. But the VHC is pretty clearly corrupt. Oddly, the only reason anyone might have to trust them out of hand is for a reputation they won't have earned for another 100 years.

Still, Shran add +1 to any episode he's in, so what do I care? What a guy. A bit harsh, but he knew what was what. Sneaky, dishonest, Vulcans! We hates them forever!

There was a one time mention of Andorians by a Klingon is the first episode, so we know they exist in the Discovery universe.
And a few episodes in we see an Andorian space suit, complete with antenna spaces in the helmet!

No actual Andorians yet, although we're told at least one is on board.

I love the Andorians, even more so after reading the DS9 relaunch which gives them an odd aspect of biology that makes them even more alien (really wish ENT had established it as well though).

I often wish that had Season 5 gone ahead and Shran had joined the cast it would be as the new Captain :)
