why bourbon when irish or scotch is available?Something I've not had for a long time is coffee with evaporated milk. Very sweet but delicious and could probably sneak some bourbon in it as well.

Spade is scotch, Marlowe is Old Forester bourbon. Depends on the dick.why bourbon when irish or scotch is available?
There's a lot to be said for an old-fashioned coffee with cream and sugar...
Waiting for my coffee to brew now. That first sip is always the best sip...That's pretty much the only way I would drink it from about my teens to early forties. When I started being more of a health addict I replaced the evil sugar with Splenda and then a few years ago transitioned to just the cream which is actually a flavored non-dairy product most of the time.
Very few times in my life did I try it with just the sugar and only once or twice plain black; only when I had no choice and needed the caffeine kick.
While I've had to endure the indignity of powdered creamer more times then I care to remember the liquid form is really the only way to go.

just two questions:
- ever considered a syringe for your daily dose of caffeine?
- are you by any chance american?
you got that wrong - i'm the straight espresso type - the bad word was instantOh yeah, I forgot ordering plain coffee is weird in some other countries.
I'm not anti-latte, but why would you order a 400 calorie drink for your daily caffeine when you could order a 60 calorie one?
I guess the American pallet likes bitterness a little more? That's why all the best beer makers in the country are obsessed with absurdly overhopped brews.
Yeah. Instant is awful! Ironically, the Coffee Bags-you brew them just like tea bags-isn't half bad.you got that wrong - i'm the straight espresso type - the bad word was instant
in my book starbucks has a hard time to even qualify as coffeeInstant doesn't need to be bad, it's all in the quality of the coffee and the execution. I have had instant I could not distinguish from brewed.
A Mr. Coffee is one of my coffee making tools and it rivals anything Starbucks could serve me.
That reminds me of Vietnamese coffee. The coarse-grind coffee is put into a small metal filter over the cup, and hot water poured through. In the US it's often made with New Orleans-style coffee that has chicory mixed in, for historical reasons having to do with availability, etc. And it's always mixed with sweetened condensed milk.Something I've not had for a long time is coffee with evaporated milk. Very sweet but delicious and could probably sneak some bourbon in it as well.
It's often said that Starbucks over-roasts their beans compared to other coffee producers, resulting in a characteristic burnt taste.I bow to your superior snobbery.
Curious though, what beans, specifically are you drinking that are better than what they use? Cause I am pretty sure they buy up most all of the good stuff. I know because I watched it disappear from shelves as they grew in size.
Or is it simply a matter of brew strength?
I agree, My favorite coffee if I'm buying from a chain is Dunkin Donuts...It's often said that Starbucks over-roasts their beans compared to other coffee producers, resulting in a characteristic burnt taste.

exactlyI can't believe people pay big bucks for their swill.
There is a reason that they are called "Char-bucks". Personally, I always thought the reason the coffee was so bitter was to get their customers to buy the more expensive drinks. Some of the Starbucks I used to service in a previous job would occasionally offer free drinks. If I accepted I always choose one if the frappe thingies even though I knew it was just fat & sugar with very little actual coffee and would likely kill my daily calorie intake.
The one time I requested just a regular old coffee I couldn't even drink half of it as it was so bittter, burnt and stale. It was one of the worst and I've had some pretty sub-par coffee in my time. I can't believe people pay big bucks for their swill.
