No never have been. But we know a lot of people who just love coffee. In our area their are so many coffee places and drive up ones. We give StarBucks gift cards to most of the people we know as gifts, because they really like the coffee.

I just spent a very silly amount of money on a beans to cup machine in the Amazon Prime Day sale

No regrets. As much as I love my moka pots (which I have always believed produces a more consistent result than a French press) this thing might save me a few minutes per cup. Which adds up to a lot of minutes...

Good idea!

Just reading the word coffee in the thread title is making me smell the aroma of a piping fresh cup.

Time for an instant!

I do love quick and dirty instant coffee from time to time. Anyone who shits on quality instant granules these days doesn't know what they're on about, the good brands can produce some quite nice and easily made brews.

* both of my grandads consumed it during the war (for a german that's quite obviously WW II), but both their diaries are quite clear about the fact that they preferred scho-ka-kola for their caffeine kick

The irony is that instant coffee actually is brewed coffee, just with the water later removed that you can put back in and adjust to taste. While there are some cheap brands of instant coffee out there that have a flat taste (but lots of caffeine!), there are some good brands that sre 100% Arabica.

And if you make the "dalgona coffee" that was trendy about a year and a half ago, you need to use instant.
