Anybody else waiting till December?

Leandar

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I bought Destiny book 1 today. But I'm contemplating the thought of waiting to read it until December, when all three of the trilogy is out that way it's not such a wait between cliffhangers. Was wondering if anyone else was thinking of doing something like this?

Ditto. I'm behind in general Trek reading, plus all the other books on my desk (pleasure and otherwise) that I can stand to have all three books in my hand before cracking them open.

Creditorly yours, the Rent Woman

I'm waiting also until December to order all three and read them over Christmas Break.

I was going to wait, but I was home sick one day last week, and I couldn't help myself. I read 3/4 in one day, and finished the rest in a single sitting 2 days later.

Hide it from yourself -- don't sneak a peek and expect to put it down for reading later...

There is no way I could hold off that long. There is just no way I could wait that long to find out what happened. Although at the rate my reading time has gone down I might end up having to wait that long.

I'm waiting until even later, but for different reasons. I have a big career shift coming soon, so I won't have the time to read them. I would hate to be caught in the middle of the trilogy and be left hanging.

I cant help but wait cause i ordered them all from amazon and they arent going to send it till the last ones out

It usually takes me awhile to read a book. Normally I will read a chapter a night, before i go to bed. I'm at page 275 of TNG: Greater then the Sum, then I'm going to read Enterprise: Kobayashi Maru, that should take me till sometime a week into November, so by the time I'm done with book one of destiny I will have Book 2, and by the time I'm done with that I should have book 3.

i read 20 books in 3 months, witha full time job and a 3 year old running around....i dont have that kind of patience

I have a ton of Trek book I haven't read. You can count among them...the Titan books, Articles of the Federation, the DS9 relaunch...and the TNG relaunch.

Pathetic. And the reason is...I'm trying to read my "unread" books in something which comes close to chronological order.

I'm not sure if I'm waiting until December but I haven't started the first book yet. The main reason is I got married this morning and I've had WAY too many other things on my mind. :) The second reason is Anathem just came out and that's what I'll be reading on my honeymoon and I don't exactly read a Stephenson book as fast as the typical ST book so not sure when I'll be done with that.

I tried to wait. I really did. (Blast you Mack. Blast you!)

Though I still need to finish reading:
-Myriad Universes: Echoes & Refractions (1 Down, 2 to Go)
-Myriad Universes: Infinity's Prism (2 Down, 1 to Go)
-The Terok Nor Trilogy
-Corps Of Engineers: Wounds

It won't be so bad to wait though as a tale from "The Dresden Files" titled Backup by Jim Butcher comes out this month, plus The Codex Alera: Princeps' Fury also by Butcher comes out in November.

Hmmmm... perhaps congratulations aren't necessarily in order...

(I kid! Mazel tov, ronny!)

Yeah, it looks bad, posting on my wedding night and putting up honeymoon reading lists. We're just freaking beat, it's been three days of family and wedding related events.

Congrats, Ronny! But, dude....come over here a sec.

Psst.

You don't take books on your honeymoon.

You pack water and vitamin supplements. And a toothbrush.

Trust me on this.

Good luck.

I'm not waiting until December, but I am trying to time it out so I can go from the first book through the third all in a row. I finished KB last week, but decided to read a few other things because I have a flight coming up this week and will do a lot of reading then. So if I start the first book in about a week, then I should be able to read straight through.

Yes I actually plan these things.

P.S. Congrats ronny!

Am I the only one who wondered why ronny's posting on TrekBBS the same day he just got married? :rommie:

Just kidding, ronny. Congratulations!!!
