Anybody else sick of Brett Favre?

I used to have a lot of respect for Favre. I can't remember the NFL without him, but...... enough all ready!!! He needs to make up his freakin mind and choose. It's another off season of will he play or not. From what I've seen on ESPN and read online the Packers want to move on, but if he wants back in there are still two years left on his contract. So the Packers have to take him, trade him, or waive him. IMHO it's time for Rodgers to take the helm and for Favre to ride off into the sunset. If they take him back they should just trade Aaron Rodgers cause he will be seriously damaged goods. I used to love Brett but come on man!!

I'm a huge Packers fan, and even I'm getting tired of all the talk about Farve returning. Although in his defense, the talk of him returning might not have started with him.

Favre keeps saying it's all BS, doesn't he?
If indeed it's BS and rumor (as he has said) he needs to come out with a press conference and put the kibosh on this now as opposed to sending a quick text message to a beat reporter.

He never should have retired. I knew this was going to happen. He can still play, he wants to play, so why he retired is beyond me.

I get the feeling it will one day come out that Green Bay asked him to decide quickly, and he made a decision he regretted. He still wanted to play, but wasn't given enough time to decide.

On the Sports Reporters (ESPN) this morning they were discussing his possible comeback. 3 out of the 4 of them actually think he would go to another team and play. I just can't see Favre in another uniform, especially with the Vikings and Bears as top suiters for his services. This indecision has got to be bad for team moral, and cause teammates to choose sides. Bring him back or let him go. A team divided is no way to start training camp.

Although Farve was one of the greatest QBs to play the game, and the Packers are my team... Yeah, time for him to ride off into the Sunset.

True, but he did retire. And it's unfair for him to yank out the job from Aaron

Plus, no doubt the team has been altered to work better for Aaron, and not for him

As for going to another team, that seems WWAAAYYY too selfish!

Sorry Brett, but you chose to retire.

There's no guarantee that he's the source of any of this nonsense, and by putting it to bed, then it would rule out any possibility of him returning. Even though he may not be initiating or fueling the discussion, ending it ends him.

As someone who watched Favre stick a screwdriver up the Bears' asses for the better part of the '90s at Soldier Field, I'm not going to say that I miss having Favre in the NFC North, especially since Aaron Rodgers will likely be yet another in the line of Jeff Tedford quarterbacks who fizzle out.

At the same time, I don't think it's a matter of being given enough time to decide. If anything, it's the very height of arrogance to do what Favre did prior to the 2007-08 season, holding the Packers hostage over a barrel and demanding to be given until after the draft before making a decision regarding a return.

Hall of Fame quarterback or not, it's unfair to the other 52 members of the team, to the coaching staff and to the front office to put them in limbo and in a constant state of guessing -- and to throw the team's draft strategy completely up in the air, just because you can't decide if you want to play a game anymore. If you can't decide between the months of January and March if you want to play, go to hell; don't drag the rest of the team around on your little drama train.

Part of me does too... but its time for him to move on
What happens if he has another change of heart in a few weeks... or worst yet, after the start of the season... Does he then lead the Pack to a 4-12 record?

I see no reason to be sick of Farve. He keeps saying that what we've been hearing are rumors and that he has nothing to do with them. Hell, I think the fact that he has to keep killing these rumors is unfair to him! From what I've seen in interviews and such, he seems like a stand-up guy, and I have a hard time seeing him screw with the Packers or the NFL in general. He says that he's out, I think he'll stay out.

Assuming he's not behind them! Maybe he told some guy "I miss the game and would like to come back" and then continued it "even though I have no plans. and even if i did, i havent discussed it with anyone" and the guy took the first fragment of the sentence and ran with it... BUT from what I can see, if he really had some intention of killing these rumors, he would come out and say "I'm retired. This is where I am staying." Instead, Favre lets them fly, giving the impression that he is somehow behind them, one way or another

Sorry, but if he said to "some guy", "I miss the game and would like to come back, even though I have no plans, and even if I did, I haven't discussed it with anyone," and then that "guy" went out and started rumors that Favre wants to come back, it really ain't Favre's fault.

Under those circumstances, he wouldn't be responsible for that coming out... but he is responsible for not coming out and saying "I'm retired, that's it. There is no truth to these rumors"

So telling the newspaper isn't enough? Should it really be his responsiblity to come out, have a press conference, put on a big show, and all for the purpose of saying, "It's all lies. I'm still not coming back." ?

Yes. Frankly, I feel that the Packers owe it to hear it directly from him... and frankly, I think he owes the nation the same courtesy

He doesn't need a big press conference he could just go on an ESPN show like PTI and give a little interview and say it's all BS and I'm retired and thats that. Don't get me wrong I love Brett and all, but this has got to be a big distraction for the Packers going into training camp. And as said above this could be through no fault of his own.
