Any under 30 TOS fans?

I love TOS, it's a close second for me to the TNG. I'm 26. I think TNG and TOS are in the same vein. What I like about TOS as with TNG, are the characters and their interactions. I think that interaction is only seen in TOS and TNG. The spirit of the show is also similar to TNG and the fact that it is an exploration ship. Both TOS and TNG really hold true to the oppening speach at the begining of TNG/TOS more so than the other Trek shows.

I think I was exposed to the show slowly through the movies, The Cage pilot, and then slowly TOS on VHS. By 1991 I was a full fledged fan, but I was only 8 by that point.

I loved the action adventure, the idea of space flight, the epicness of the stories and the grandness of the friendship connection in the films. Star Trek when I was young was always something that pushed me to understand more about science, literature, and history. I think besides the push from my mother to get me to read (I had some early childhood learning issues), Star Trek was also the carrot on a stick. It was also a gigantic playground for my imagination. An entire universe to fill.

Regarding "Camp": I always thought that when something is considered Camp it's because the creators of the show know they're making something silly and that the cast, writers, etc., all realize it's in fun. Whereas Kitsch is something that takes itself seriously but comes off as unintentionally amusing.

One of the things about discovering TOS in 1970 for me was the Apollo flights to the Moon. I had watched the Apollo 11 landing in 1969 before I discovered Star Trek. Of course I was already interested in some SF on TV and comics. But hearing about the Apollo landings and then the Apollo/Soyuz collaboration all seemed to make TOS' depiction of far future star travel even more credible.

It's a shame that sort of thing isn't really around for younger viewers today. While the International Space Station and shuttle flights are important work they've become just part of the background media noise and evoke a zero sense of romance and adventure. The '60s space programs really were going where no man has gone before.

Im 14, and i fell in love (well, with Spock, first ) but with the whole chemistry the crew had, and the idea of this kind of future. i loved those moments between the Big 3, and i didnt mind that the graphics and stunts were cheesy on many occasions, but it was made up for with great acting. i suppose it panned out for me to tune into Me TV on occasion.

I suppose it's a matter of perspective. While I can see some deliberate camp in the humorous episodes I simply don't see any cheese at all.

I'm 25 and I'm a fan. Although TNG and DS9 are my favs.

I admit I used to think it was cheesy so I never really watched it (plus it was on crappy time slots, like 5am in the morning). Now that I can find the episodes online, I can watch it whenever I want. And I think they're great.

The Doomsday Machine is one of my fav Star Trek episodes (out of all Star Trek, not just TOS). Loved seeing the battle scarred USS Constellation and her crazy Commodore Decker.

I love Errand of Mercy too. Commander Kor is awesome. I like how it builds up to armageddon, all for nothing battle like The Best of Both Worlds, By Inferno`s Light, What You Leave Behind. `In space above us, the destiny of the galaxy will be decided for the next millenia` says Kor.

And Balance of Terror. The Enterprise battles a Romulan Bird of Prey for an hour. Kirk played a chess game with the Romulan commander. There was real strategy involved. It wasn`t just evasive pattern beta! wait 2 mins while the ship shakes. evasive pattern delta!

I could go on. but those 3 are among my favs

I'm 25 and I love the old series.

I just find it pretty cool, I love the old episodes whenever they're on TV but seems like TV Land doesn't show it anymore.

I like all trek and "A Piece of The Action." is one of my favorite TOS Episodes.

Plus I love the old Romulans I have yet to get TOS on DVD.

I'm 25 and like Star Trek (refuse to call it by a name it was never given). I just like 90's Trek better because I grew up with it, but I can respect Star Trek for what it was. Liked the characters and the stuff with Kirk/Spock/McCoy. Also, I really like the first 6 movies (Ok, maybe 4 of the first six but I digress) and there are many episodes of the series I consider the best Star Trek had to offer.

I'm 18 years old and I just recently got into Star Trek. I was introduced into it by TNG. I like the Spock/McCoy moments and Chekhov was chocolate to me.

I'd have to say that TOS isn't my favorite, though. Like I said, TNG got me into Star Trek and it's always been my favorite.

Mind you, I grew up on TNG mostly, my introduction to TOS was through the TMP-TUC movies, and I didn't really appreciate the original show itself until I was 17.

27 y.o here, and I've loved Trek (especially TOS) since I was a pre-teenager. TNG was the first one I ever saw (I was five when it premiered) and I was hooked. Throughout my teens, I was obsessive about everything Trek. I collected comics, books, games, watched every episode, could recite trivia.

Now that I'm a bit older, I appreciate TOS as the best of the series. I don't think its dated at all. The effects might not be as impressive as the others, but to me its not about effects. The stories are timeless, and take you into another world.

Shows as special as TOS don't come along often.

I'm under 30 and love it! I do think it's cheesy of course by today's standards, but you have to remember that it wasn't cheesy at all in the 60's, it was probably cutting edge. Maybe in 40 years people will watch things like House and Lost and think they're cheesy, who knows?
I watch it because it is awesome, the stories are good, the characters are great, and it's just plain fun and entertaining. I love the things they did back then that you'd never see now, the whole thing is just so honest and sincere.

I am 22 and I love TOS and just everything to do with Star Trek it just is amazing.

ps I wasn't brought up watching Star Trek by the way it was last year that changed me into a trekkie.

I am 17 and have been a fan of TOS since the late 90s when it was still airing on SyFy.

It is my favorite Star Trek because I just love the characters so much more than any of the other Treks, though TNG is a close second and ENT a close third.
