Any old timers still around?

Joined in July 2001, in that pre 9/11, pre Enterprise, pre Nemesis world. How innocent we were! One thing remains though; George Takei still thinks an Excelsior series would be a great idea.

Anybody remember the first joke thread to come out of the announcement of "Series V"(Enterprise)? It was a thread about Mr. T being in the new show or making a guest appearance. I don't remember how or why it got started...I guess it was just one of those things that organically happens on a board with a legion of pop culture nerds...but it sticks out in my memory as the first humorous thread about the prequel series.

I had just joined the BBS when the first details about Enterprise were announced.

*waves* I was part of the May 2001 influx.

Sometimes I miss all the drama. A lot of it seems silly now, but it was never boring!

It's all that drama that makes this board memorable. If there is one thing I miss from there not being a new trek series, it was talking about new Star Trek here and always feeling lost in the shuffle.

It is good to know a lot of the familiar names from when I joined are still here.

I never realized Kegg's been around longer than I have until tonight. I wonder how many active posters are still left from 1999 and 2000...there can't be too many.

^Yeah, not too many. These days, it seems like there are more posters who had signed on after I did (March 2006) than before. There are a lot of names I don't know over at the trek forums.

Yeah that's not surprising. There have been entire years where I haven't posted at all (I dropped out somewhere in the mid-2000s when ENT was still on the air and didn't come back until there were some vague announcements of the Abrams film.)

Mostly what I remember of the drama were the DS9-VOY fights, and in general how heated the VOY (and later, ENT) forums got.

(...well, okay, I'm ignoring some things I'd prefer to forget.)

Have you always had the Wixiban avatar? Seems like every memory of your posts has a Wix image attached to it.

Don't make me start singing Elton John lyrics. My rendition of "Tiny Dancer" would render you permanently sterile in under thirty seconds.

Sean Connery would have made an excellent villain.
When Picard introduced himself Connery would simply reply:
"But of course you are"..... :p:p

That's how the lyrics go and I'm going to carry that conviction to my grave. And "Bennie and the Jets" does say "She's got electric boobs, a mohawk too, you know I'm ready for the magazine..." as far as I'm concerned. :shifty:
