Any old timers still around?

Flukie's a class act whether on here or over on Facebook. I can't think of one bad thing to say about the guy and I'm not exaggerating whatsoever. I can't remember him ever doing a cross thing that rubbed me the wrong way.

I'll say that and it'll turn out he's a Space Lizard sent here in human disguise to lull us into a false sense of security so his species can conquer us all...but for right now he's the tops.

What's the definition of old timer. I was here in 2002 (Changed usernames in 2003) but it doesn't feel like I'm an old timer.

Five years or half the board's lifetime. Either way works. So... 2007 or 2006, respectively.

Anyone who was around when there was a Star Trek series still in-production on television is definitely an oldie.

I always forget how long it's been since Star Trek was on TV. Hell, when I joined, ENTERPRISE hadn't even started yet (it was still called "Series 5"). I'm pretty sure VOY was still in its 5th or 6th season.

Enterprise's last two episodes aired about 7 years and 5 months ago. This is the longest television has gone without a new episode of a Trek series since the thirteen-year gap between the end of TAS and the launch of TNG (1974-87).

I probably don't notice it as much because I don't watch any live TV anymore. I actually finally got around to finishing ENT on Netflix just a few months ago. I had originally stopped watching it during Season 2.

I've been here just over ten and a half years myself (and lurked for probably a couple of years before that) so I guess I count - but obviously from my rank I don't post enough for anyone to notice.

I joined April 2001, catching the last eps of Voyager here. Then the Towers fell and the world spiraled down.

Was Year of Hell back then... regenerated a couple of times since then.

Hello Miscellaneous - remember me? I used to be your Master.

Hmmm. 13 years.

Ahhhh, those golden days. 17 I was, freshly banned from the startrek.com chat rooms and in search of a new home. I came, I saw ... and I spammed.

Now, I'm 30. TrekBBS has been a constant throughout my adult life! I have learned and laughed the whole way through.

And you know what I've realised after all this time?

My post count has really slacked these past 10 years.

Why am I thinking Blablover5. I'm pretty sure she had a couple that wasn't of a black lab once in a while when she still posted here. She's from Nebraska where they have those :)

Blablover posted so often that it took me a really long time before I realized her name stood for "Black Lab Lover." I always just thought it was "Blab Lover." Very fun poster to have around.

:(

Well, Enterprise doesn't really count as a Star Trek series, does it? :p

November 2001 was when I signed up, but I never really posted a lot (maybe light to moderately). When I started here, I really didn't know anything about the internet other than it existed...

I think she's around quite a lot on Facebook and Twitter. And yes, she was great fun here. :) Very cute dog pictures too.

I remember the bouncing sloth head from a long time back. I just wish I could remember who first posted that and, if it was somebody's avatar, who had it.

ARGH! Now you've got me rackin' my brain too. :scream:
The longtime wearer of the disco-lights head-bobbing sloth avatar was mcmac, I'm pretty sure, although Flukie might have had a hand in making it that way - I just don't recall. It seems the animation didn't survive the software change, though.

mcmac, yeah, that's who it was! When I said it was Flukie, it didn't sound quite right.

Oh, definitely.

Strange, I've been here about 7½ years and still a lot of the names dropped in this thread remind me of a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

What? it's not only a Trek-board, is it?
