Wasn't there already a movie with a similar premise, called The Astronaut Farmer? Except without the salvage aspect.

The salvage aspect is what makes the film different.

Well a remake without Andy having a cameo before he passes on will not happen unless the original cast has a cameo launching let us say the next generation from Mel,and Skip along with their adopted daughter convince Harry to come out of retirement to visit them at their own aerospace company in New Mexico building with current salvage tech a new vulture that has more cargo capacity,and uses current computer navigation tech to make sure the new ship is guided correctly without asking for NASA's guidence system,and a refined approach to using a green based fuel that has the same properties as Monohydrizne,but more stable.
The question is what would this next gen vulture look like?
