Curious as to what members get up to in these organizations? Seems like they could be fun, especially when I don't have a single "real-life" friend who is a Trek fan.
Then again, as both a veteran and a current LEO, the SFMC seems a tad silly- they're trying too hard, IMO. Then again, only fans who want that sort of atmosphere would join SFMC, I suppose- so I won't rag on them too much.
Last question- how large are these organizations? I'd imagine SF proper is fairly large, but I can't imagine that the SFMC has too many members?
