Any knitters? A simple charity project!

If there are any knitters or crocheters on the board, here's a simple charity project. You don't have to be particularly good at it--a simple garter stitch or double crochet will be fine.

It's Knit A Square, and the call is for 8-inch squares to be donated to the Soweto Comfort Club, where they'll be put together into blankets for AIDS orphans in South Africa.

It's a terrific way to use up leftover yarn from projects.

Thanks for passing the link on, Kira'sMom. I sent it to my mom, too.

And trampledamage, that's a great idea for a way to learn a new craft. I've been using the opportunity to test out some stitch patterns I've never tried before and play with colors I don't usually use when designing for adults.
