Any good Star Trek songs?

Well, there's Erasure's First Contact which I don't think is very Star Trekky, despite the lyrics (there's a Trek BBS thread about it here). In fact, despite the obvious Star Trek references, I rather think this track's about something other than the Borg entirely. But that could just be the baser parts of my mind (and the fact that I'm a big Erasure fan)...

Well, Richard Whiting's song "Beyond the Blue Horizon" was always credited by Alexander Courage as the main inspiration for the Original Series theme tune, can't find a sung version

This song has always reminded me on Section 31 and Control/Uraei from David Mack's novel, since i read it.

Well, if "Born Again Trek" didn't do anything to impress you, I'm not sure I know anything that will! :shrug:But here are a few of the older, and better, Trek songs that I like to listen to.

Humor, but maybe one of the best-known Star Trek filksongs, Leslie Fish's "Banned from Argo":

Another from Fish (not sure who the singer is). Light-hearted but with heart, "Bones's Theme":

KIrk sings about how his love for his ship keeps him from having a normal life. Not humor. "Iron Mistress," also by Fish, sung by the great Julia Ecklar:

The Enterprise falls, in The Search for Spock. "Fallen Angel," written and performed by Julia Ecklar.

You're welcome! Here are some more in the same vein:

Leslie Fish (yes, again!) adapts Rudyard Kipling to give Scotty "The Engineer's Hymn":

You may have noticed that the last one has the same cover art as a couple of my previous offerings. That's because, originally, they were all part of the same recording, "Where No Man Has Gone Before." You can find the collection on YouTube by going to "search" and typing in "filk Where No Man." Not all of the songs are Trek, and not all of the songs are serious, but you will find more of the type of songs you're looking for there. Have fun!

I have a song that I probably got from Napster around 2000 or early 2001. It's called "Seven of Nine" and apparently it was by a group called Biological Error. It runs 5:14, and rather than sung lyrics, it is artfully filled with dialogue clips from Voyager. It starts with Jeri saying "My designation is Seven of Nine. But the others are gone. Designations are no longer relevant. I am... one."

It's really good, you'd be surprised, with driving, exciting techno music, and it plays like an extended trailer for the TV series. But I can't find any reference to it on the net. I just did a Google search, and the number one result was my own thread from 2013! My working theories about it are that a) the mp3 I got came tagged with the wrong group who supposedly recorded it, or b) the song has been disappeared due to copyright violations.

It's just strange for something so good to be so obscure.
