I played about nine years ago, got to lvl 75 and quit. Had a dozen or so open quests, each stalled because I needed a higher level in some skill; it was either grind for hours to improve a skill to advance to the next stage of a quest or meander aimlessly doing random jobs til some useful skill leveled. It was a vicious circle - I couldn't get any more quests til my character leveled up, and I couldn't level up til I finished some of hte open quests.

Went back recently to see if my account still existed, only to find Runescape is no longer a browser game and I must install an unspecified amount of "client software" to play.
