Any fans of Nicolas Cage here?

I loved him in "The Rock" and "Face Off". But after this last arrest, I feel like he is starting to lose grips with reality as well. (Not quite Mel Gibson yet, but he seems to be going in that direction.) Sad.

The "Drive Angry 3D" star, 47,... *snip*

Fucking SNAP!

In happier Nic Cage news, OH MY FUCKING GOD NOT THE BEES!!!

I was a fan at one time, but not so much lately. I loved his action stuff in the '90s ("The Rock", "Face/Off", "Con Air") and "Adaptation" is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen with him giving one of the greatest performances I've ever seen in it.

He did some cute stuff in the '80s too ("Raising Arizona", "Valley Girl", "Moonstruck"), but he's one of those actors who I think tends to be almost the same in every movie and I haven't really liked any of his movies in about ten years (with the exception of "Adaptation" and "The Family Man").

I was a fan of his at one time as well. Now I just refer to him as Mr. Wooden. That's what i think of his acting in recent films. I believe he was still filming the Ghost Rider sequel when this happened.

I love Nicolas Cage, in that "it's so bad it's good" kind of way. I mean, I can watch "Con Air" or "The Rock" just over and over and over again. And even some of his just plain, nutty, batshit insane stuff...

I'm not a huge fan, but I've liked him in the National Treasure movies. Hopefully they'll make another one of those.

Really liked him in some of his early stuff (esp. Raising Arizona, Wild at Heart, Vampire's Kiss, Red Rock West). And he's been good in a few more recent films too (I liked The Weather Man a lot), but now it seems like all I can look forward to are his insane performances (The Wicker Man remake, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans). Most of the rest of the stuff he's in, regardless of the quality of the film itself, he doesn't really seem to be doing anything interesting.

Of some of his movies, yes. Of him personally.....I have nothing against him.

But, I AM glad he didn't get to play Superman. Does anybody remember that picture of him in the suit?

Face/Off, Con Air, The Rock, and Kick Ass have made me a permanent fan. Though I have to say he has had an uneven career. I don't know what happened after the highs of the 90s, but he makes these bombs but then he might strike paydirt (National Treasure, for example), and then he makes more bombs, but still gets movies. A very interesting career.

For all the duds he's done recently, I still like him. Few other actors could get away with drinking jelly beans from a cocktail glass (Ghost Rider) or the line 'Put the bunny back in the box!' (Con Air). Then you have his great performances in Face/Off, Adaptation and Kick Ass. Just one of Hollywood's one-offs, IMHO.

^I do think he be quite talented when he wants to be. The problem is that he's learned to make lots of money without putting in the effort. He can make loads of mediocre movies, and people still turn out to see them.

^ Yeah, the problem is, apparently he pisses away money like an incontinent man pisses away cheap lager. That and he owed a load of money to the IRS. So he will make any old tat for the right fee. I think he'd basically give handjobs to tramps for money at this stage. But to be fair, he's generally the best thing in the stinker movies he's done.

I didn't really care for "Kick-Ass", but I found him to be one of its few highlights. In my opinion, his Adam West impression was the best thing in it.
