Any Eureka fans on here?

I was watching Eureka a few weeks ago and started thinking Dr. Isaac Parrish, Fargo's nemesis, looked really familiar to me. It really started bothering me over the next several episodes (but not enough to go check the web, obviously) because I couldn't think of who this guy was. Then I started reading A Time to... a week ago, where Wesley comes back, and then when I was watching this past Monday night's episode it hit me. Wil Wheaton! Man, has he really changed (haven't we all?) I haven't seen him in anything in years. It's good to finally see him in an adult role.

Anyway, I'm sure this was probably news to no one but me but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone else had missed it.

Did you catch the little Trek joke in this week's episode, where they were all wearing numbered jumpsuits, and Parrish's was "1"? Someone called him "Number One" and he got all upset.

Can't remember now, did Wes run off w/ the Traviler after the events in A Time To? I thought he returned one other time since then but can't remember that either.

Oh & big time Eureka fan. This may be a borderline wrong thread topic but since you did mention the book the nice mods might let it slide.

Yes, I did catch that one. I got a big kick out of it.

Those were my thoughts exactly. Still, if they feel the need to move it, so be it.

I'm only about halfway through the second book so I don't know what Wes does after. I guess I'll find out though...

Actually Parrish was the one referring to everyone else by their numbers, including Number 1, Number 4, and Number 4 Asterisk for the extra guy who wasn't supposed to be there. So I'm not convinced it was a TNG joke.

I think they were just being subtle (or taking advantage of the opportunity). The surface meaning was that Parrish could give it but he couldn't take it, calling everyone else a number but resenting it when someone referred to him that way. The fact that he just happened to react so strongly to being called "Number One" was a bonus. If Parrish was played by someone else, they probably would've given him jumpsuit two, so the joke would have a scatological undertone instead.

Wil is actually a rather cool dude. Met him numerous times at Comicons.

Hes the kinda guy you just go grab a beer with and chill.

You can also see him as his evil self in The Big Bang Theory and as an archenemy in The Guild. He seems to enjoy playing the (not seriously) bad guy these days (and he does it well).

And given that this is the literature section, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that there are at least three EUREKA novels at this point . . . .

I too like Eureka, but am starting to HATE the SciFi channel. Canceling their best shows...
